Hey guys so over the holidays myself and Johny Cilohokla have come up with a few new ideas the main one being we are going to have two factions in the game.
The concept being that ;
A) Players that like what they know.What we are used too as gamers. (swords,shovels, guns,organic, food. etc..) ORGANIC
B) Players that the like playing as something new and out there. (machines, automation,energy-instead of food.etc…) META
Johny Cilohokla sums this up nicely
Much harder to start with. At the start you will control only 1 unit.
Units will be highly depended on the energy supplied.
Your base will be have to be organized from the very start.
You will have to get the resources yourself.
You will be able to automate machines in early tiers (from tier 2).
Really easy to start with. At the start you will control few units.
Unit will only need food and water to survive.
- Order your units to gather resources in selected area
- Setup buildings with machines
- Give orders to craft items and research new technologies
You will be able to automate production using your units, but true automation without the need to use units will be in late tiers (semi-automatic tier 3, fully automatic tier 4)
This will solve both problems that I have.
If you are playing as a team, you will be able to help each other. More experienced player will take care of automating the production and building. Less experienced player will help with resource gathering resources and defending in early stages. As they will have different inventory system there will be cross-over machines crafted by both players.
If you are playing against each other, your friends have easy start, will be able to follow the game and due to multitasking progress much quicker than you.
The plan is to have it so that when organic faction reaches next tier, meta faction will be about 1 tier benching, except for tier 5.
